We redesigned their entire WordPress platform, rebuilding the information architecture to handle 40+ solution pages, four distinct buyer pathways, and a content hub spanning blogs, podcasts, webinars, and customer stories. The Challange

Applause isn’t a small startup. They have 1.7 million testers, offices across five countries, and clients like Google, Uber, and PayPal. Their platform tests everything from mobile apps to AI features to payment systems. But their website had fallen behind the company’s growth and needed to handle complexity that most websites never face.

  • Massive Catalog, No Clear Path: 40+ solutions organized across four dimensions: by testing need, by technology, by industry, and by job function. The old site made it hard for buyers to find the right solution for their specific situation.
  • Navigation Couldn’t Handle Scale: Standard nav doesn’t work with 40+ pages. Visitors had to click through multiple levels to find what they needed. Enterprise buyers were dropping off before reaching relevant solutions.
  • AI Story Wasn’t Front and Center: Applause had invested heavily in generative AI testing, agentic AI testing, and AI-powered automation. But the site didn’t communicate they were leading the industry into AI-powered testing.
  • Content Was Scattered: Blogs, podcasts (“Ready, Test, Go.”), webinars, customer stories, and annual reports like the “State of Digital Quality” series all existed but weren’t organized to help buyers or position Applause as a thought leader.
  • Customer Stories Underused: Google, Uber, PayPal, Sony, Expedia. Names that build instant credibility. But social proof wasn’t strategically placed to influence buying decisions.

What Made This Redesign Different

  • Four-Dimensional Mega Menu: The hardest UX problem on the project. Buyers navigate 40+ solutions by Testing Need, Technology, Industry, or Job Function. An engineer finds mobile app testing in one click. A healthcare QA lead finds their industry page just as fast. Same menu, four entry points.
  • ACF-Powered Solution Templates: 40+ pages needed, so we created flexible ACF templates that let Applause’s team spin up new solution pages (like “Agentic AI Testing”) without touching code. Each pulls structured content: hero, problem statement, solution overview, use cases, and CTA.
  • AI Positioning Built Into Every Page: Homepage leads with “Software Testing Reimagined for the Age of AI.” But every section across the site reinforces how Applause combines human testers with AI, plus dedicated pages for Generative AI and Agentic AI testing.
  • Multi-Format Content Hub: Five content types in one resource center: Blog, Podcasts (Ready, Test, Go.), Webinars, Customer Stories, and Resource Library. Each with its own taxonomy, filtering, and featured content display.
  • Enterprise Client Showcase: Client logos (Google, Uber, PayPal, Sony, Spotify, ESPN) placed directly below the hero. Customer stories featuring brands like Audi woven through homepage and service pages.
  • Multi-Language Architecture: Full English, German, and French support for Applause’s global offices in Boston, Berlin, Herzliya, and Warsaw.
